TROMPETTER GUSS – YOUR MODERN FOUNDRY FOR HIGH-QUALITY COMPONENTS MADE OF FLAKE GRAPHITE CAST IRON AND SPHEROIDAL GRAPHITE CAST IRON

TROMPETTER GUSS BINDLACH is one of Bavaria’s modern foundries today and is a reliable supplier for well-known customers. On two molding lines, the company produces high-quality components made of flake graphite cast iron and spheroidal graphite cast iron in small and medium-sized series.

Our foundry works for general mechanical and plant engineering, the sectors of toolmaking, drive technology, valves, hydraulics, pumps and compressors, textile machinery, shipbuilding as well as agricultural and construction machinery.

Numerous cast parts are also finished and surface-treated upon customer request.

EVERYTHING FROM
A SINGLE SOURCE

From the design drawing to the finished product, including state-of-the-art quality control, we provide everything for a perfect cast product. In our foundry in Bindlach, we manufacture high-quality products in small to medium-sized series. Casting is not our only service. Modern technology supports us in quality control for an optimal result.

  • Founded in 1946 by Rudolf Trompetter in Bayreuth
  • In 1972, under the management of Friedrich Trompetter, the company moved to a new, technically modernized plant with 14,000 m2 of operating space in Bindlach
  • Today, TGB is managed in the third generation by Mathias Trompetter, making it one of the oldest family-run foundries in Germany

OUR CASTINGS – GRAY CAST IRON & DUCTILE CAST IRON

Our foundry produces small, medium, and large series for customers from various sectors with unit weights from 1 – 300 kg and an annual capacity of 8,000t. The share of gray cast iron EN-GJL in our production is 70%, and the share of ductile cast iron EN-GJS is 30%. Below we present the difference between gray cast iron and ductile cast iron.

FLAKE GRAPHITE CAST IRON

Iron-carbon alloy with high carbon content, in which the graphite is present in the form of thin, irregularly shaped flakes.

It is a brittle material characterized by good thermal conductivity, good damping properties, and, due to its brittleness, excellent dimensional stability.

MATERIAL LIST FOR SERIES CASTING

  • EN-GJL-150
  • EN-GJL-200
  • EN-GJL-250
  • EN-GJL-300
  • EN-GJL-350
  • Customer-specific special materials

SPHEROIDAL GRAPHITE CAST IRON

Iron-carbon alloy in which the graphite is present in spherical (spheroidal) form. This material is characterized by mechanical properties similar to steel. This is achieved by desulfurizing the melt by adding small amounts of magnesium shortly before pouring.

Due to its excellent mechanical properties and good resilience, ductile cast iron is widely used in industry.

MATERIAL LIST FOR SERIES CASTING

  • EN-GJS 400-15
  • EN-GJS 400-18 LT
  • EN-GJS 400-18 RT
  • EN-GJS 500-7
  • EN-GJS 600-3
  • EN-GJS 700-2
  • EN-GJS 800-2

The GJS-SiMo quality is suitable for the use of cast parts at elevated temperatures (above 700°C) from the perspective of mechanical, temperature-dependent properties, resistance to scaling, and thermal shock resistance.

CASTING TECHNOLOGY

  • Computer-aided gating and riser calculation
  • Solidification simulation
  • 3D measurement technology

GOM – ATOS Compact Scan Non-contact,
flexible 3D measuring system for complete,
full-surface, three-dimensional shape and
dimensional analysis and control throughout the casting process.
